We have all heard the saying “It takes a village to raise a child”, and while that holds true for nurturing the next generation, it’s also a powerful mantra for the world of entrepreneurship. Just as children thrive with guidance and support, businesses flourish when they benefit from the diverse perspectives, skills, and shared experiences of a community. This was the underlying theme at the “So Ambitious Reception & MOODEAUX Launch” held on August 22 at The Village Retail in Ponce City Market as part of National Black Business Month.
Brianna Arps, the CEO and founder of MOODEAUX, recently celebrated her brand’s debut along with a vibrant gathering of industry leaders, startups, and community supporters. Talk about a scent-sational idea!
The atmosphere at the launch smelled of excitement during a friendly happy hour with refreshing mocktails from Mocktail Club and a showcase of MOODEAUX’s best-selling fragrances available for sampling and purchase. Attendees mingled, laughing and sharing their entrepreneurial experiences, all while embracing the lively spirit of collaboration.
At the heart of the event was a Fireside chat where Brianna Arps shared her insights alongside Maire Rosa, the CEO and co-founder of ecomspaces. Ecomspaces is an Atlanta-based e-commerce hub dedicated to supporting and guiding aspiring ecommerce entrepreneurs. Rosa emphasized the power of community in building successful partnerships.
“Black Ambition brought us back together after we met months before. I am so glad because that brought trust into our partnership. It takes time and patience to nurture any relationship,” Rosa said, underscoring the warmth and support that defines successful business ventures.
Arps, whose brainchild MOODEAUX reflects her passion for fragrance, echoed the sentiment. “My business is my baby and I want it to thrive, but I’m only one person and will cap my limits if I don’t practice the ability to partner with others,” she said, a statement that resonated deeply with many entrepreneurs in the room.
The evening was not just about networking or product launches; it was a celebration of shared dreams and collective growth. The conversations and questions reflected a strong belief in the notion that building a successful business requires more than just a good idea; it requires a network of support and the willingness to collaborate.
As the gathering attendees wrapped up their conversations, they left with a sense of purpose. What a great way to end the National Black Business Month. Watch the video recap below:
